The Review Santa Fe Photo Symposium provides opportunities for photographers to expand their audiences, engage in critical discussions, and connect with their community. One of the country’s original juried portfolio review events, Review Santa Fe, marks its 25th year on October 23-26, 2026.
Oriana Poindexter is one of the 100 selected photographers participating in this year’s review event.
Portfolio Walk
Each year, the Review Santa Fe Portfolio Walk brings together a global network of 100 selected lens-based artists and up to 50 representatives from museums, publications, book publishers, and media outlets.
For one night only, this lively event creates a rare opportunity to engage with a broad range of vetted photographic and lens-based projects and the artists behind the work. The work on view encompasses some of today’s most pressing social, environmental, and political issues, along with stellar contemporary art projects.

Join Oriana Poindexter at The Sea House for an interactive cyanotype workshop. Learn this early alternative photographic process and use organic materials to create your own cyanotype prints using photo chemistry techniques first developed in the 1840s.
The resulting prints are records of the state of the ocean and your creative process on that particular day, recorded in the blue and white palette of the sea itself. Cyanotype is an alternative photographic process used to create photographic prints in the distinctive shade of Prussian blue and white without the use of a camera, exposed with the sun and developed in water.
This workshop will teach you the fundamentals of the cyanotype process, its history, and will culminate with each participant creating at least three original cyanotype prints - usually something frame worthy.
The first portion of the workshop will involve an introduction, demonstration, and selection of materials, and the second portion will be a printing session. If you have materials you’d like to bring to use for printing (sentimental objects, dried botanicals, etc), please feel free to bring them.
A percentage of proceeds from this workshop will benefit Sea Trees. Registration is required via a ticket purchase. All ages are welcome. In Situ: La Jolla
On Friday, April 3, as part of a special Earth Day Art Walk, La Jolla Village invites you to experience In Situ: La Jolla, a curated exhibition inside Unscripted Spaces, a striking two-story interior design showroom in the heart of the Village.
Presented through the San Diego Architectural Foundation’s Activated Spaces program, the exhibition highlights local artists whose work can hold its own in a refined, design-forward setting. It’s also designed as a point of connection: local interior designers are intentionally invited to engage with artists, opening the door to future collaborations, commissions, and creative partnerships.

Artist Talk: Medium Photo Festival
The 2026 Medium Festival of Photography will include exhibitions, artist talks, workshops, a portfolio walk, portfolio reviews, an image makers market, a community print hang/swap, an alternative process patio, and more! Festival events take place at the Museum of Contemporary Art in La Jolla.
Oriana Poindexter will be giving an artist talk at 3pm, open to Festival attendees.

EXHIBITION OVERVIEW
The Hyde Art Gallery and the Grossmont College Ceramics Program proudly presents VIEWPOINT: Ceramics 2026, the latest chapter in a storied ceramics exhibition series that began in 1977. Returning for Spring 2026, this juried showcase reimagines the spirit of the seminal VIEWPOINT exhibitions, which brought together artists from across Southern California to explore diverse perspectives in contemporary ceramic practice. Building on the legacy of past iterations, in ‘77, ‘78, ‘79, ‘80, '81, ‘83, '98, ‘99, '04, & '06, VIEWPOINT: Ceramics 2026 celebrates the enduring relevance and creative range of ceramics as both a functional craft and a conceptual art form. From sculptural installations and experimental surfaces to refined vessel forms and narrative-driven works, this exhibition offers a vibrant snapshot of what it means to be a ceramic artist today.
This particular iteration of VIEWPOINT: Ceramics will be showcased in Grossmont College’s new Hyde Art Gallery, housed within the state-of-the-art Performing & Visual Arts Center. Recognized as one of the region’s premier venues for contemporary art, the gallery provides a refined, light-filled setting that enhances the presentation of each piece. Exhibiting here offers artists exceptional professional exposure, situating their work within a dynamic cultural hub that draws audiences from across the community and beyond.
