Closing Walkthrough: The Blue Forest

  • Catalina Museum for Art & History 217 Metropole Avenue Avalon, CA, 90704 United States (map)

Sunday October 11, 2026, from 11:30 am - 12:15 pm

Join photographer and marine scientist Oriana Poindexter at the Catalina Museum for Art & History for a private guided walkthrough of The Blue Forest, Oriana’s immersive installation at the Museum that transports visitors into the underwater world of Catalina Island’s kelp forests. Through the exhibit, guests will explore the intersection of art, ecology, photography and marine science that informs her cyanotype work.

Directly following the walkthrough, guests have the option to join a ticketed cyanotype workshop at the Museum. Info and registration here.

Travel to the island is NOT included! If coming from the mainland, book your ferry to Avalon through the Catalina Flyer (Newport Beach) or the Catalina Express (Dana Point, Long Beach, San Pedro).

For info on how to get to the Catalina Museum from the ferry terminal, click here. It’s a 10 to 15 minute walk along the waterfront and up one block to reach the Museum, with ride options available.
