Oriana Poindexter, Blue Forest Portraits is a collaboration between LCAD Gallery and Laguna Museum’s Art & Nature. Curated by Bryan Heggie, Gallery and Collections Manager, Laguna College of Art + Design.

Laguna College of Art and Design's Gallery is proud to present a solo exhibition of photographer and marine scientist Oriana Poindexter. Poindexter illuminates the underwater world and invites viewers to expand their relationship with the ocean by blending art and science.

Blue Forest Portraits is a collection of handmade images on paper and fabric, each one a portrait of an inhabitant of the underwater forests that line the Southern California coastline. Diving deep into the blue forest, Poindexter documents the diversity of species she interacts underwater using historic photographic techniques. Included in the show will be a group of works co-created with the Laguna Beach community during the Laguna Art Museum’s Art + Nature ‘Portrait of Place’ workshop.
